The role

Orbit are delighted to be recruiting for two Information Governance Officer's to play a vital role in ensuring the safety of our customers and colleagues data. In this role, you will operate as a business partner within Orbit for Data Protection and provide IG advice and support where required. You'll also support the administrative requirements of the line manager (Head of Information Governance) with specific reference to Subject Access Requests, collating information in relation to security incidents and maintaining records to ensure that we remain legally compliant with Data Protection and other relevant legislation.

This role is an agile working position based out of our Coventry, Garden Court office, with the team working roughly once per week on-site (subject to business need), and is part of Regulatory & Governance where you'll help us give colleagues the support and expertise they need to be brilliant.

What you'll achieve

Responsible for maintaining a record of all IG related policies & procedures
Support the Head of Information Governance by ensuring all Data Subject Rights requests-including SARs-are logged, verified, managed and completed within statutory timescales and the Group’s policies and procedures.
Support the Head of Information Governance to manage and co-ordinate all Social Tenants Access to Information Rights requests, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, regulation, the Housing Ombudsman requirements and the Group’s policies and procedures.
Manage the lifecycle of all information security incidents, ensuring accurate logging, timely triage, evidence gathering, documentation and closure in line with the ISM Incident Procedure.
Updating and maintaining accurate records of all incident related documentation including the Information Security Risk Register (ISRR).
To act as a business partner and support Orbit services where required to respond to tasks and queries and enable service to develop within the legal compliance framework for Data Protection
Carry out Data Protection Impact Assessments in collaboration with all business areas, and manage identified risks
Drive consistency and best practice within Orbit by identifying improvement opportunities and supporting implementation of new guidance, tools or training.
Design, deliver and maintain Information Governance and Data Protection training programmes, ensuring they meet organisational needs and support a strong culture of compliance.What you'll bring

Essential skills

Knowledge of Data Protection (DP) legislation, information and records management and security management with support provided to become a qualified data protection practitioner.
Professional qualification in Data Protection at foundation level or above (such as BCS certification)
Experience of producing, analysing and summarising volumes of information/data
Ability to investigate, analyse and compile reports providing insight into the business.
Good IT skills including the use of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook etc)
Ability to comprehensively review policy and procedural documentation
