English Teacher – Mainstream Secondary School (Cheshire)

Long-Term Supply | Minimum 1 Term | Start: After February Half Term
Pay: £150 – £200 per day (depending on experience)

We are currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic English Teacher to join a welcoming mainstream secondary school in Cheshire for a minimum of one term, starting after February half term. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive department with clear behaviour expectations and strong leadership.

This role would suit a confident classroom practitioner who is passionate about delivering engaging English lessons and supporting students to achieve their full potential.

The Role:

* Deliver high-quality English lessons across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 experience advantageous but not essential).

* Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons aligned with the national curriculum.

* Maintain positive behaviour management and high classroom standards.

* Marking, assessment and feedback in line with school policies.

* Work collaboratively with departmental colleagues and pastoral teams.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS / PGCE or equivalent).

* Strong subject knowledge in English Literature and Language.

* Experience teaching in UK secondary education.

* Confident behaviour management and strong classroom presence.

* Reliable, professional and adaptable.

* ECTs and experienced teachers welcome to apply.

* Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply).

Successful candidates should hold QTS, PGCE with a relevant Bachelor's Degree, a Bachelor of Education or the international equivalent.
