The Role

A leading civil engineering main contractor is seeking a Senior Design Engineer to join their team in Greater London. You’ll take ownership of design packages on major infrastructure projects, provide technical leadership, and play a pivotal role in delivering safe, efficient, and innovative solutions.

Responsibilities

Lead and coordinate design phases, ensuring compliance with standards.
Produce, review, and approve designs, drawings, and specifications.
Work closely with project managers, site teams, consultants, and clients.
Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
Carry out site inspections and resolve design issues.
Support project planning, risk management, and value engineering.
Ensure deliverables are met on time, to budget, and to quality.
About You

Degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering discipline (Master’s desirable).
Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards it.
Strong background in civil engineering design, ideally contractor-side.
Skilled in AutoCAD, Revit, STAAD Pro (or similar software).
Strong knowledge of UK codes, standards, and regulations.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
