We are looking for Lab Machinists to support engineering and sample testing operations within a busy laboratory environment. This role involves preparing and processing test samples using a range of manual and computer-controlled equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with established testing standards.

* Rotating shifts (06:00–14:00 / 14:00–22:00 / 22:00–06:00)

What you will be doing:

* Preparing and testing a variety of raw materials and industrial samples using standard lab procedures

* Operating manual and CNC-controlled machinery (lathes, saws, grinders, milling machines)

* Recording, calculating, and reporting test data accurately

* Entering and monitoring sample information using computer systems

* Performing maintenance, calibration, and fault reporting on test equipment

* Prioritising urgent test requests in coordination with other departments

* Liaising with external inspectors for production and contract testing

* Supporting and training less experienced team members

* Maintaining lab documentation, ensuring procedural compliance

* Assisting in workflow management in the absence of supervision

* Upholding safety and cleanliness across the work area

What we are looking for:

* Experience using engineering tools such as lathes, saws, grinders, milling machines, hand tools, callipers, and vernier gauges

* Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines

* Proficiency in Microsoft Office

* Strong focus on health and safety in the workplace

* Ability to follow and refine technical procedures

* High level of numeracy and attention to detail

* Clear written and verbal communication skills

* Initiative-driven with good decision-making ability

* Able to work flexibly, including day, night, and weekend shifts
