JOB DESCRIPTION: Engineering Director, Operations Director, Manufacturing Director, Site Director - chemical manufacturing

You will be working onsite, alongside the current Operations and Engineering Director as part of our succession planning. We are a collaborative business, and you will be working closely with departments such as Engineering, Marketing, Sales, Technical and Regulatory teams to support coordinated and efficient operations that align with company goals.

Reporting directly to the Board you will make up part of the senior management team and act as a sounding board on all key operational, HSEQ, production and manufacturing issues.

In addition to this you will also:
· Develop, oversee and manage the operations budget to ensure financial efficiency and alignment with business objectives.
· Collaborate with the Regulatory Team to ensure all operations meet environmental, health, safety, and industry regulations, integrating compliance seamlessly into daily practices.
· Be responsible (eventually) for approximately 60 indirect reports as the handover progresses, leading and inspiring a team of operations professionals by providing clear direction, ongoing training, performance coaching, and career development support.
· Assume responsibility for projects to improve operations and implement best practices to enhance productivity, reduce waste, lower costs, and boost overall performance.
· Assume specific projects including but not exclusive to implementing new systems
· Be an active and collaborative member of the senior management team.

For us both to be successful:

Ultimately you will have already been a successful senior manager / director, ideally having a background in the chemical sector as an Operations Manager, Factory Manager, Plant Manager, Site Manager, or a Senior Production Manager. Ideally having some exposure to DSEAR/COSHH/COMAH regulations, someone who above the normal requirements, enjoys playing an active role in the business. Someone who is driven by their love for developing the people who report into them and uses data to influence and aid your decisions. You will be enthused by variation and wearing many operational hats. Confident with regulatory and industry regulations, you will have a proven track record of leadership and management.

It is likely you will have previously managed a chemical manufacturing site with a t/o of circa £20-£50m and worked with a variety of outsourced providers and managed a broad supply chain.

It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets, and worked with the following products and/or services:  Operations Director, Engineering Director, Operations Manager, Site Manager, Plant Manager, Factory Manager, Manufacturing Manager, Technical Director, Site Lead, General Manager - Chemical, Resins, Adhesives, Paint, Inks, Fertilisers, Pesticides, Coatings, Lubricants,  Disinfectant, Solvents, Blending, Surface Protection, Chemical Manufacturer
